ACC Power Rankings updated after Week 13 of college football
The latest ACC Power Rankings are here following Week 13 of college football and a full slate of action, courtesy of the On3 Massey Ratings.
The On3 Massey Ratings – which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated high school sports team rankings since 1995 – rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.
Let’s dive into the ACC Power Rankings following Week 13 of the college football season.
1. Miami
Miami bounced back in a big way with a 42-14 win over Wake Forest. The Hurricanes remained atop the ACC rankings despite not clinching a spot in the conference championship game.
As long as the ‘Canes beat Syracuse this coming weekend, they’ll play SMU for the crown. The ACC and CFP are on the line this weekend!
2. SMU (+1)
The Mustangs dominated Virginia 33-7 and clinched a spot in the ACC Championship game. With that, SMU is back up a spot in the rankings.
Kevin Jennings threw for 323 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Brashard Smith added 63 rushing yards and one touchdown as well.
3. Clemson (-1)
Clemson only dropped a spot because of SMU’s win and the Tigers beat up on The Citadel 51-14. The Tigers need Miami to lose this weekend to make the ACC title game.
Clemson of course will take on rival South Carolina, which is no gimme. The Gamecocks are hot right now.
4. Louisville
The Cardinals dominated Pitt to hand the Panthers their fourth straight loss. Despite a 37-9 win, Louisville stayed in the No. 4 spot in the ACC.
Tyler Shough had 293 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Isaac Brown ran for 93 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
5. Georgia Tech (+1)
Georgia Tech moved up a spot in the ACC with a 30-29 win over NC State last Thursday. That was despite the Wolfpack scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter.
The Yellow Jackets picked off NC State QB CJ Bailey three times. Now at 7-4, Georgia Tech has a big time challenge this Friday at rival Georgia.
6. Duke (+1)
Duke improved to 8-3 on the season, the first under Manny Diaz. The Blue Devils beat Virginia Tech 31-28 and moved up a spot in the ACC rankings.
Maalik Murphy threw three interceptions, but played well enough with 332 yards and three touchdowns. Duke ends the season with Wake Forest on Saturday.

Eli Holstein was injured and suffered a nasty leg injury. Nate Yarnell came in with little success, throwing for 96 yards, one touchdown and one interception. David Lynch didn’t fare much better, throwing for 43 yards and an interception.
8. Syracuse (+1)
The Orange moved up a spot in the ACC following a 31-24 win over UConn. Now at 8-3, it’s been quite the debut season for Fran Brown.
Winners get washed right? Kyle McCord threw for 470 yards and two touchdowns in the win. They’ll conclude with Miami.
9. Boston College (+4)
The Eagles vaulted back up the ACC; four spots, can you believe it? In the 41-21 win over UNC, Grayson James showed off his dual threat ability.
He threw for 192 yards and a touchdown while adding 38 yards and a score on the ground. Kyle Robichaux added 93 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
10. Virginia Tech
A tough loss for the Hokies, 31-28, at the hands of Duke. They tried to storm back in the fourth quarter, but only managed 11 points.
William Watson III threw for just 146 yards and an interception. Bhayshul Tuten ran for 84 yards and a score in the loss.
