ACC releases all-conference preseason team, tabs Cam Ward as Player of the Year

Miami quarterback Cam Ward has been named 2024 ACC Preseason Player of the Year. It was voted on by 170 league media members on Thursday.

The conference has also released the 2024 preseason All-ACC Football Team as well, which includes five total Miami Hurricanes including Ward.

Ward, who came to Miami from the transfer portal this offseason after considering turning pro, completed 66.6 percent of his passes and threw for 3,735 yards, with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions during his final season at Washington State in 2023. Now tabbed as the ACC’s preseason player of the year, the expectations have been set for the fifth-year QB.

The ‘Canes kicks off the 2024 regular season against in-state rival Florida, so his talents will be put to the test from the start against the SEC program.
