ACC schedule release: Full list of dates, matchups revealed for 2024 season

The 2024 season will feature plenty of changes for the ACC. Three teams are joining the fray after a groundbreaking round of conference realignment, and the schedule is out.

The ACC announced its 2024 schedule on Tuesday, featuring a full list of dates and matchups. It will mark the second year without divisions for the conference, which will now go coast-to-coast with the additions of Cal, Stanford and SMU.

The conference announced its Thursday and Friday games for the 2024 season on Tuesday. Now, the ACC has unveiled its full league schedule with games starting in late August.

Boston College Eagles

Boston College ended the regular season on a three-game losing streak, but still clinched bowl eligibility and knocked off new conference foe SMU in the Fenway Bowl to finish with a 7-6 record. It was a solid bounce-back season for Jeff Hafley after going 3-9 in 2022, and with Thomas Castellanos back in the fold, Boston College could look to keep building in 2024.

One of the three newcomers to the ACC, Cal also had a bounce-back year in 2023 after missing out on a bowl game in three consecutive seasons. The Golden Bears finished 6-7 after dropping the Independence Bowl, but Justin Wilcox’s group looks like it has some momentum as it makes the leap from the Pac-12.

Florida State put together a special season in 2023, finishing with a 13-0 record and an ACC championship. Although the Seminoles missed out on the final four-team College Football Playoff field, Mike Norvell and Co. look to be in prime position to make the expanded CFP with another highly touted transfer class coming in, headlined by quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.

Jeff Brohm’s return to Louisville went about as well as he could, ending with an ACC title game appearance to cap off the schedule. The Cardinals have been active in the transfer portal once again as Brohm continues to build the program through transfers — currently ranking No. 1 in the On3 Team Transfer Portal Rankings — and that could be a recipe for success again in 2024.

The Mustangs managed to crack the final College Football Playoff top 25 before Bowl Season, and they’ll surely try to make some noise in their new conference.

After losing Sam Hartman to Notre Dame, Wake Forest went through an up-and-down season en route to a 4-8 record in 2023. Dave Clawson and the Demon Deacons will try to get things back on track, and one of the key pieces of that will be Louisiana Tech transfer quarterback Hank Bachmeier.

With the ACC going through multiple changes in 2024, the full schedule is set. Now, it’ll be interesting to see which teams can be in contention for the new-look College Football Playoff as it expands to 12 teams — considering the conference was shut out of this year’s CFP.
