With the ACC title game likely to feature Florida State and Louisville, FanDuel has released the early odds for the matchup. The Seminoles would enter as 9.5-point favorites over the Cardinals if that is ultimately the matchup that takes place.

FSU has already clinched its spot in the conference championship with an 8-0 league record so far. Louisville can secure its place with a win against Miami on the road this Saturday.

If the Cardinals were to lose, North Carolina would still have a slim path to reach the conference championship. The Tar Heels would need to win there final two games against Clemson and NC State in order to tie Louisville with a 6-2 ACC record.

Because UNC did not play the Cardinals this season, the tiebreaker would then turn to comparing the two teams’ records against common opponents based on order of finish in the conference standings.

This past week, Louisville survived a late rally from Virginia to come back and win by a score of 31-24. They Cardinals held a 14-0 lead at halftime before allowing the Cavaliers to score 21 unanswered points and take the lead. Louisville ultimately came back to tie it before Isaac Guerendo broke free for a 73-yard touchdown run to go ahead for good with 3:24 remaining.

Florida State knows the challenge that lies ahead for the Cardinals this week against Miami. The Seminoles escape an upset bid from the Hurricanes this past week to win 27-20.

The Hurricanes held a 13-10 lead before FSU scored 17 unanswered point to take the lead and never relinquish it. A late push to tie was stopped when the Seminoles forced an interception from Tyler Van Dyke to seal the game and improve to 10-0 (8-0 ACC).

Florida State coach Mike Norvell was happy to see his team hit adversity and walk right through the other side of it.

“Just so proud of our players, the work they put in — they sacrifice so much and we challenge them in every area on the field, off the field — and all that they do to prepare for times like this. Back-to-back 10-plus win seasons, you obviously — winning the last three against that opponent is big for us and just so grateful for these players that I get to coach,” Norvell said.

Kick time for the ACC title game is set for 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 2 and will be televised on ABC. The game is set to take place inside of Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
