Stanford lands commitment from On3 four-star DL Adam Shovlin
Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More defensive lineman Adam Shovlin announced his commitment to Stanford on Thursday. He was in Palo Alto this past weekend for his official visit.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound Shovlin chose The Cardinal program over other opportunities from Duke and Penn State among others.
“I loved the visit,” Shovlin told On3. He gave Troy Taylor and his staff his pledge before leaving campus.
“Honestly they treated me like a priority throughout the process,” Shovlin added. “Besides the degree, they’re on the come up. Promise you, this class is gonna shock the world in two years.”

The On3 Industry ranks Shovlin as the nation’s No. 35 defensive lineman. On3 is higher on him and slots him No. 25 nationally.
Shovlin becomes commit No. 14 for Stanford in this 2025 cycle, and becomes one of the jewels alongside quarterback Bear Bachmeier, offensive lineman Josh Williams and fellow defensive linemen Gabe Kaminski and Kole Briehler.
“They’re a big program on the rise,” Shovlin said. “The staff is full of proven guys mainly from that old Wisconsin team.
“They have the potential to make a deep run for the ACC in two years.”
