Aiden Sherrell, a four-star power forward in the class of 2024, has announced his top eight schools: Alabama, Arizona State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, UNLV, and USC.

The 6-foot-11, 220-pound prospect playing at Gilbert (AZ) Hillcrest Prep has taken official visits to Alabama, Michigan State, and UNLV. He says he plans to take more visits after the high school season.

In addition to the eight schools listed among his top group, Sherrell also received offers from Indiana, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Memphis, Creighton, Georgia, Auburn, LSU, and others.

Sherrell ranks as the No. 40 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus — the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3). On3’s evaluators are even higher on the big man, ranking him 29th overall in the class.

“Each of the eight schools have been very consistent recruiting me. They’ve all been on me heavy,” Sherrell said.

Alabama: “I have a great relationship with the coaching staff. I definitely see myself fitting in that system. They’re also a great program. When I took my official visit, it was a great environment. We went to a football game and the fans loved me.”

Arizona State: “I go to school out in Arizona so I get to watch their games. They have a great team and I can see myself playing there also. I have a relationship with some of the guys on the team there.”

Michigan: “It would be great to play for coach Juwan Howard. He coached in the NBA and also played at a high level. He would definitely develop me in to the player that I want to be, I feel. Michigan is a great program and it would be great coming back home.”

Michigan State: “It was such a family environment. They brought me in. I went on an official visit with my mom and dad. They welcomed as a family. It’s a great program. I’m originally from Michigan so it would be great coming back home.”

Ohio State: “I see myself fitting in that system also. They’re a great program too. With the coaches, I have a great relationship with them.”

Oklahoma: “Oklahoma is a great program and I see myself fitting in there for sure. Although they’re the newest school in my recruitment, I’ve developed a good relationship with the coaches so far. I feel like I would thrive there.”

UNLV: “When I went on my official visit, it surprised me a lot. The environment around it, it was crazy. I toured the campus and everything, and it was beautiful. It’s definitely a great program and I could definitely see myself playing there, for sure. The coaching staff is all great guys and I have a great relationship with them.”

USC: “They produce guys that are similar to me, guys that are long and lengthy and are very versatile. I definitely have a great relationship with the coach and coach Eric Mobley. I can see myself playing in that system and going to the next level.”

Scouting Report

“Aiden Sherrell has a muscular frame with long arms,” On3’s Jamie Shaw writes. “His strong base allows him to establish a good position on the block where he is a good area rebounder. Sherrell can finish over both shoulders, in traffic, and has solid explosion, getting above the rim. At 6-foot-10, he can stretch the floor, extending beyond the three-point line. Sherrell tends to play too much on the perimeter. At this point, he is most effective playing from the inside-out. There is a lot there, great natural tools.”
