Air Noland commitment ceremony live updates
Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star quarterback Air Noland will announce his commitment on Saturday, April 8 at 8:45pm ET. Noland will pick among his final seven schools: Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ohio State has emerged as the heavy favorite to land Noland’s commitment. The Buckeyes sit with a 90.6% chance to land Noland following expert predictions from On3 Recruiting Analysts Sam Spiegelman and Josh Newberg.
Noland is the No. 111 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 10 quarterback and the No. 20 recruit in Georgia.
On3, however, is higher on him than the other recruiting services, as shown in the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 45 prospect, No. 4 quarterback and No. 8 player in Georgia.

Air Noland Commitment Live Updates
8:50 p.m. – Noland announces his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes.
8:47 p.m. – A hush has come over the crowd. The anticipation is building as the announcement is beginning. Noland’s about to speak.
8:45 p.m. – Announcement about commence right on schedule. Noland is joined by his mother and father. Noland is communicating with the broadcast team. The announcement will be coming likely in the next 3-5 minutes.
8:44 p.m. – It appears he could be planning to use his teammates in some capacity as they’re huddled near the top of the room. Noland and his family are now seated.
8:43 p.m. – Everything is set for Noland’s announcement. He’s not yet at the table. Noland’s been in and out on the phone working to set up some technical parts of his announcement coverage.
8:32 p.m. – Noland’s beginning to take pictures with teammates. We’re about 15 minutes away from a commitment.
8:15 p.m. – We’re about 30 minutes away from Noland’s announcement. There’s a buzz in the air. A young woman is running around with Miami gloves on.
8:14 p.m. – “It’s a big decision he’s going to make but I think he’ll make the right decision for the overall fit. He wants to ahead and get it out of the way. He’ll be glad when it’s over. I talked to him and his mom and they’re over the process,” Noland’s coach Daniel Williams tells Johnson.
8:13 p.m. – “It’s a weight off of our shoulders to be honest with you. It was sort of like figuring out what high school he was going to because Georgia’s very competitive with football down here. It goes hand-in-hand with the college thing now. A different chapter, another phase and hopefully Air makes the right decision going to a college with coaches who need him and appreciates him as a ball player on and off of the field,” Noland’s father tells Johnson.
8:02 p.m. – Noland is starting to set up the laptop for his commitment announcement stream. There’s still about 40 minutes before he makes his announcement.

7:43 p.m. – The crowd has welled to about 60 people now. Family, friends and coaches are all in attendance about an hour before announcement time.
7:38 p.m. – “It has been a long process but overall we’re grateful. We’re thankful he had all of these opportunities and I’m proud of my son. I can’t do nothing but smile and be happy for him. It’s a big decision for us and his future,” Noland’s mother tells Johnson.
7:36 p.m. – Noland tells Johnson, “It’s very exciting. I’m close to getting it over with. It’s been a long process and I’m happy to get it over with.”.
7:15 p.m. – There are about 30 family members and friends in attendance at the moment. Everyone is dressed in neutral colors and nobody is giving too much away. Noland is dressed in all black.
7:12 p.m. – Dinner is about to be served ahead of Noland’s announcement.
7 p.m. – Miami signee Joshua Horton showed up to support his high school quarterback. Horton will join the Hurricanes in the summer.
6:57 p.m. – It’s a very laid back vibe with about two hours before Noland announces his college commitment.
6:37 p.m. – Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas A&M hats are set on the table alongside a football and Noland’s jersey. Noland’s teammates are starting to arrive as well.
