AJ Brown and Micah Parsons took their NFC East rivalry to the baseball diamond this week. Philadelphia Eagle and former Heisman winner Devonta Smith hosted a charity even in Pennsylvania recently with several players from the Eagles and other teams around the NFL, per a CBS report.

One of the activities players participated in was a home run derby. Brand new Eagles receiver AJ Brown faced off against Cowboys rookie Micah Parsons in a one-on-one slugfest. Parsons, a Pennsylvania native, went first and hit two home runs. Brown followed him up and talked some trash before stepping into the box. “Get your popcorn ready and tell Micah Parsons he can get ready for this s—,” Brown teased as he prepared for his turn at the plate.

He came through on his taunting. Brown narrowly edged out Parsons with three home runs to Parsons’ two, and flipped his bat and waltzed across the bases in celebration, further rubbing his victory in the Dallas linebacker’s face. Of course, cheers serenaded Brown as he danced towards home plate while Parsons faced a smattering of boos on his way off the field. Brown sure got that Philly crowd riled up.

That wasn’t the only competition played on the diamond. NFL players from around the league separated into two teams for an exhibition softball game. A thrilling one at that.

AJ Brown was absolutely dominant at the plate as both teams piled on the runs. By the ninth inning, the score was 12-11 with Brown’s team trailing and Parsons’ team in the lead. But Brown’s new quarterback, Jalen Hurts came through for their team. Hurts sent a two-run home run over the wall in the bottom of the final inning to secure a walk-off win for his group.

A brutal day for Micah Parsons, though. Brown walked off on him in the home run derby. Then saw his team score 12 runs and hold a one-run lead heading into the final inning, only to watch Hurts bomb a game-winner. All at the hands of an NFC East rival too. I guess we’ll call that revenge after Dallas stomped Philly in the regular season last year.

Overall, a fun event for Eagles fans. Especially after getting to watch their players ruin Micah Parsons in multiple softball events. And a good cause for Devonta Smith, who arranged the whole thing. I have a feeling the Cowboys and Eagles will be a little less jovial in their matchups on the gridiron this coming fall. Adding Brown to the fold should at least make their games competitive.
