Davion Hannah, one of the top combo guards in the country, tells On3 he’s committed to Alabama.

The 6-foot-5 senior out of Link Academy (MO) ultimately chose Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide over Ohio State, Cincinnati, and Missouri, but also received offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Wisconsin, NC State, and others.

Hannah, a Wisconsin native, is the nation’s No. 32 overall prospect, No. 2 combo guard and No. 2 recruit in Missouri in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Hannah on his commitment to Alabama

Davion Hannah discussed his decision with On3.

“I chose Alabama because of their history of not only developing and producing people but winning as well. I love to win and I love to compete and I will be able to do both of them playing for Alabama and Coach Nate Oats.”

What led to his trust in coach Oats and the staff?

“Coach Nate Oats and the rest of the staff not only told me that they have a plan for me but showed me the plan as well. I just felt that they are really invested in me and I can definitely strive and continue to develop the right way while playing for them.”

What role did Hannah’s lead recruiter, Alabama assistant Preston Murphy, play in his decision?

“Coach Murphy actually played a big role in my commitment. I spoke with him a lot and he also stayed in contact with my family as well. Coach Murphy is a very funny, competitive guy and a lot of our conversation was just about getting to know each other more and really connecting.”

Hannah has a message for Bama fans.

“Wassup Bama family, I am very excited to be able to be apart of such a great culture and great program and I’m ready. I’m ready to build a relationship with everyone as well as compete and do whatever it takes to keep alive this winning culture. Let’s do it!!”

Scouting Report

“The thing with Davion Hannah is his explosive burst. Hannah is at his best when he is able to get downhill toward the basket. He gets above the rim in transition and plays in straight lines. While he is a threat as a pull up shooter, he will need to develop his shooting consistency from range. He is comfortable with the ball in his hands in the half court, but would like to see him clean up his reads. The athleticism leads to intrigue on the defensive end, he is a twitchy athlete and he competes. He has good size and nice length, projectable frame. Would like to see him become a more efficient player, but he has a lot of tools and his competitive nature helps leads to production.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Notes on Hannah from the NBPA Top-100 Camp

Hannah was named as one of the standouts of the prestigious NBPA Top-100 Camp in Orlando earlier this summer, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw:

“Davion Hannah had a productive week. He showed multiple pieces to his game with the ability to get into the paint off the bounce and knock down pull-up jump shots in the half-court. He has defensive upside with his length and twitchy athleticism, and he showed a competitive fire here that was clear.”
