Alabama forward Mo Dioubate enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Alabama sophomore forward Mouhamed “Mo” Dioubate has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
The 6-foot-7, 215-pound fan-favorite forward from Flushing, New York, reportedly expressed a desire to become a regular starter moving forward immediately following Saturday’s 85-65 loss to No. 1-seed Duke in the Elite Eight. The second-seeded Crimson Tide finished 28-9 overall and 13-5 in SEC play this season.
“Yeah. That’s always the goal, for me to play more minutes,” Dioubate told the Tuscaloosa News on Saturday night. “I know the work I put in. … I know what I deserve on the court, and the other guys know that as well.”
Dioubate certainly took strides in Year 2 in Tusclaoosa, significantly improving his production after averaging 2.9 points on 47.4-percent shooting, 2.4 rebounds and 7.7 minutes per game in 33 games as a freshman in 2023-24. This past season, Dioubate averaged 7.2 points on 61.7-percent shooting, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists while averaging 16 minutes per game in 37 games in 2024-25, all coming off the bench. Dioubate also saw improvement in his 3-point shooting as a sophomore, improving his success rate from just 9.1-percent (1-of-11) in 2023-24 to 46.2-percent (12-of-26) in 2024-25.

Despite not starting a single game in two seasons, Dioubate became a fan-favorite due to his hard-nosed play in and around the basket, earning Alabama’s coveted “Hard Hat” award a team-high 13 times. He also ranked second on the team in culmulative “blue collar” points (532.5) behind only senior forward Grant Nelson during the 2024-25 season. The small foward was a massive presence on the boards this past season, leading the Tide in offensive rebounds (70) and ranked third in total boards (219).
