The first full season of Kalen DeBoer at Alabama has seen no recruiting drop-off for the Crimson Tide. An elite group of offensive linemen and a five-star quarterback have paved the way to another top-five Alabama class. Included is Carmel (Calif.) offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd, a five-star prospect ranked No. 16 overall in the final 2025 On300 rankings on Thursday.

The final edition of the 2025 On300 features 32 five-star prospects, up from 25 in the previous update in November.

The 6-foot-6.5, 280-pound Lloyd committed to the Crimson Tide on June 18, choosing Alabama over Ohio State and USC. Lloyd has built a solid relationship with Alabama offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic.

“I think obviously as a person, he’s really good. And same with him as a coach,” Lloyd told BOL in October. “I was there on the Sunday practice [after the Western Kentucky game] and I really loved how he coaches and the energy he brought. Even a day after they played a game, it’s really cool to see the energy and effort he brings. He calls it ‘Juice Squad.’ He brings it himself, and he doesn’t rely on the players. Brings it and expects the players to come with it. I like that a lot.”

Lloyd was named a five-star recruit by On3 in November after an impressive senior season at Carmel.

“Alabama offensive tackle commit Jackson Lloyd is one of the more athletic offensive linemen in the 2025 cycle,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote in November. “The Carmel (Calif.) High standout has played at a high level as senior, working as a left tackle and disruptive defensive lineman. The 6-foot-6.5, 280-pounder is an easy mover, both in pass protection and when working to the second level.

“He’s added play strength as a senior and is finishing blocks at a higher rate. The strong film, combined with his sterling multi-sport background make Lloyd one of the more intriguing offensive tackle prospects in the loaded cycle.”
