Alabama transfer Caleb Odom planning visits with North Carolina, Ole Miss and Miami
Alabama transfer receiver/tight end Caleb Odom has scheduled a visit with North Carolina this week, On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed. He also has planned visits with Miami and Ole Miss in addition to having already visited Colorado.
Odom was a true freshman this past season who entered the program as a tight end but made the switch over to receiver. He played in all 12 games with one start, finishing with seven catches for 65 yards.
Odom played high school football for Carrollton (GA), where he was a four-star prospect. He ranked as the No. 54 overall player and No. 2 tight end in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The visit to North Carolina comes after it was announced last week that six-time Super Bowl winning coach Bill Belichick would take over as the Tar Heels coach. Meanwhile, Ole Miss and Miami are two teams that narrowly missed out on the College Football Playoff and already looking to beef up their rosters for another run in 2025.

Colorado also has an interesting connection for Odom. He was high school teammates with Julian Lewis, the No. 6 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle. After being committed to USC since August 2023, Lewis flipped his commitment to Colorado on Nov. 21.
Caleb Odom will have three years of eligibility remaining at whichever program he chooses to attend. He’ll certainly figure to make an impact right away given his lofty recruiting ranking this past cycle and praise from Crimson Tide coaches.
“His growth as a player has been exponential throughout this season, that’s why he’s played as much as he has,” Alabama receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard said earlier this year. “When you’re a bigger guy like he is, you’re really working to get in and out of your breaks more efficiently and be able to move in a way that’s more of a receiver. Obviously, he was recruited here to be a tight end initially. I’m super proud of his progress to this point. Really reliable kid, tough, willing to do whatever it is that we ask him to do.”
