In three games this year, Orji is three-of-six passing for 15 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, he has 10 carries for 58 yards.

Through three weeks, from the outside looking in, the QB position still seems like it could be an issue for the team.

Despite that, when asked after Michigan’s win on Saturday over Arkansas State if he was concerned about the quarterbacks being an issue for the Wolverines, Moore pushed back on that idea. Instead, he insisted the unit will continue to improve.

“I wouldn’t call them an issue,” Moore said. “We’re just gonna go to work. So, we’ll get better as we did in the running game last week. We’ll get better in the passing game and we’ll continue to strive forward.”

For the first three games of the season, Michigan started Warren. However, after he threw three interceptions against Arkansas State, Moore benched him for Orji In his playing time, Orji only threw four pass attempts but did have a touchdown pass.

After the game, Moore praised Orji for how he controlled the Wolverines offense when he got his opportunity.

“Davis was playing good, but you can’t have those turnovers,” Moore said. “Orji went in there and did a good job, missed the one throw, but thought he controlled the offense pretty well. We’ll go from there.”

As a team, Michigan is averaging 23.3 points per game, which is 99th in scoring offense. That’s largely impacted by being 121st in passing offense, averaging just 153 passing yards per game, and being tied for 129th in interceptions with those six from Warren.
