An update on South Carolina QB situation heading into matchup with Florida

When South Carolina hosts Florida on Saturday, the Gamecocks will be led by their third different starting quarterback of the season.
Jason Brown, a transfer from FCS St. Francis (Pa.), will be South Carolina’s starting quarterback against the Gators, sources tell On3.
Zeb Noland, who stepped back in as the Gamecocks’ starter after Luke Doty was lost for the season to an injury, has been working back from meniscus surgery he had early last week.
Brown, a fifth-year senior, was 8-of-14 for 84 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in relief of Noland during the Gamecocks’ most recent game, a loss to Texas A&M on October 23.

Brown was an All-Northeast Conference selection at St. Francis in 2019, setting single-season school records for passing yards (3,084) and touchdown passes (28). St. Francis didn’t play football in 2020, and Brown enrolled at South Carolina just before spring practice. He played in 18 games and made 12 starts for the Red Flash.
South Carolina (4-4 overall, 1-4 in the SEC) enters the matchup against Florida (4-4, 2-4) as an 18-point underdog.
