Altamonte Springs (Fla.) Lake Brantley four-star linebacker Andrew Harris announced his decommitment from UCF on Sunday night. He was previously pledged to the Knights since July 6.

Harris is the No. 300 overall prospect and No. 28 linebacker in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 56 player in Florida.

“I would first like to start by thanking all coaching at UCF for putting their faith in me and giving me the opportunity to play the game I love most at their university,” Harris wrote in a statement published to social media. “Unfortunately, after some tough conversations with my family, I have decided to decommit and not reopening my… commitment.”

The Florida native was previously the second-highest-rated recruit in UCF’s 2023 recruiting class. His brother, four-star linebacker Michael Harris, also decommitted from the Knights on Sunday.

Harris’ decision comes after UCF defensive coordinator Travis Williams was reported as the next defensive coordinator at Arkansas. Assistant head coach and defensive backs coach Addison Williams was elevated to replace Williams.

A 6-foot-0.5, 195-pound recruit, Harris has an On3 NIL Valuation of $22K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
