Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s Episcopal five-star EDGE Anthony Jones is the No. 1 prospect in the state of Alabama in the 2026 cycle.

To no surprise, the Alabama Crimson Tide figure to be a major player in the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder’s recruitment until he puts pen to paper. On Tuesday, Bama head coach Kalen DeBoer and linebackers coach Christian Robinson visited Jones at his school:

No program has had Jones on campus more than Alabama thus far. He’s already nearing double-digit trips after seeing multiple games in Tuscaloosa this fall. The entire coaching staff has made Jones feel like a priority and continue to stand out compared to other schools.

“It feels great every time I’m up there,” Jones told BamaOnLine after a trip in November. “It basically feels like home. They welcome me and take care of my family as well.”

Jones has around 30 Power Four offers under his belt. He also visited the likes of Auburn, Miami, LSU, Oregon, Florida and Texas A&M throughout the fall. It won’t be easy for Alabama to land Jones’ signature, but its done a bang-up job at getting toward the top of his list so far.

“It’s still high as it’s always been,” Jones said of his interest in the Tide.

Jones is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 2 EDGE in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

An instrumental part of the St. Paul’s defense, Jones helped lead the Saints to a 9-3 record this season. They won eight of their first nine games and finished as the No. 28 team in the Yellowhammer State, per the On3 Composite Rankings.

“Originally ranked as a linebacker, Anthony Jones checked in as the No. 2 EDGE prospect in the initial 2026 On300. The Mobile (Ala.) St. Paul’s star was outstanding off the edge as a sophomore, racking up over 100 tackles and 10 sacks. Jones is a strong, athletic defender who shows the ability to run sideline to sideline and finish plays at a high rate. He also sports a very strong track profile, winning a state title in the shot put as a freshman,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power previously wrote of Jones.

Alabama currently has just one commit in its 2026 recruiting class. Gadsden City (Ala.) four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson pledged on Dec. 24 and is the No. 69 overall recruit in the 2026 class.
