Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove three-star quarterback Anthony Maddox has his top three schools and knows when he’ll be making his college decision.

Maddox announced on Twitter that he will be making his decision Feb. 6 and will be choosing between Alabama, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Maddox is the No. 556 overall prospect and No. 43 quarterback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in Mississippi.

On3 rates Maddox higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is a four-star prospect, the No. 274 overall prospect, No. 19 quarterback and No. 6 player in Mississippi.

Texas A&M offered Maddox on January 30 but he visited College Station in November for the Aggies’ game against Florida. Penn State offered Maddox on Jan. 8 and Alabama was the first of the three to offer him in June of 2022.

He has visited each of the schools at least once.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently has Texas A&M as the heavy favorite to land a commitment from Maddox at 99%.

RPM was released to the public in December 2021. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Maddox currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $7.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
