Antoine Davis returns to Detroit after exploring transfer options
Detroit’s all-time leading scorer, Antoine Davis, will return to the program after weighing his options in the transfer portal, he tells On3.
“What’s a better situation than playing for your dad? I wanted to win for Detroit and I feel like I owe Detroit that,” Davis said to On3.
Davis, one of college basketball’s all-time leading scorers, ended up choosing to return to the Detroit-Mercy Titans over Kansas State, BYU, Georgetown, and Maryland. He will have one year of eligibility remaining, granted by the COVID-19 season.
The 6-foot-1, 165-pound shooting guard has spent the last four seasons at Detroit Mercy playing under his dad Mike Davis, the former Indiana head coach. The 2022 Horizon League Co-Player of the Year is an absolute scoring machine. He’s had four games in his career where he’s scored 40+ points, including a career-high 48 points against Wright State in 2019.

In Davis’ four years at Detroit, he’s averaged 24.6 points, scoring a total of 2,734 career points for the Titans. To no surprise, Davis ranks 22nd all-time in college basketball scoring history.
The all-time NCAA leading scorer is none other than “Pistol” Pete Maravich, as he scored a whopping 3,667 points during his time at LSU. In order for Davis to catch him, he’d have to average just over 27 points a game this upcoming season.
