Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County four-star quarterback Antwann Hill hit the reset button on his recruitment after decommitting from Colorado on Nov. 26.

The 6-foot-4.5, 215-pound gunslinger was pledged to Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes for just over a month. After considering reclassifying to the 2024 cycle, Hill opted to instead bide his time and come back on the board.

Awaiting him was an army of high-profile schools. Around 25 Power Five programs have offered the blue-chipper and a few are currently standing out above the rest.

The No. 76 overall prospect and No. 7 QB in the 2025 cycle — per the On3 Industry Ranking — joined On3’s Phillip Dukes on ‘The Five Star Flex’ to break down the trio of SEC schools that are near the top of his recruitment; Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Hill sees the vision at Ole Miss

When Hill sees Ole Miss on the field, he often comes away impressed. The Rebels have now won 10 or more games in two of the last three seasons as Lane Kiffin continues to build and improve in Oxford.

Offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. is now heading Ole Miss’ recruitment of Hill — who visited the Rebels last March. Hill continues to hear and see the right things when it comes to his recruitment or the product on the field in The Magnolia State.

“The No. 1 offense, passing and running, the way they’ve been doing these past couple of years with Coach Kiffin there, Jaxson Dart, the quarterback play is just great there. They’ve got a great thing going on, I feel like this season they’re really going to make a lot of noise in the 12-man playoff,” Hill said. “I feel like Ole Miss is going to be in the top five, or one of those top-10 teams. Explosive offense, then they’ve got a bunch of great portal guys, so I feel like they’re going to really be good this year.”

“You’ve got coaches that know what they’re talking about and know how to develop the quarterback position. They know what the NFL is looking for in a quarterback.”

Hill building bond with A&M OC Collin Klein

When asked what Hill likes about Texas A&M, he’s quick to jump to new offensive coordinator Collin Klein, who left Kansas State to join new skipper Mike Elko in College Station. It’s a new era for the Aggies, but the new staff is already building some momentum on the recruiting trail.

Klein made his way to The Peach State earlier this year and has already began building a solid relationship with Hill and his family — something that the QB says will be one of, if not the biggest factor in where he opts to play his college football.

“Me and Coach Klein, we’re building a great bond, he came down this spring and talked to me — we stayed in there for like two hours, him and my dad just talking ball, talking about the future at Texas A&M and what they’re bringing from Kansas State to Texas A&M, so I feel like they’re gonna really make some noise this year, too,” he said of the Aggies.

“Consistent communication with me and my folks, that’ll go a long way. Even after I’m committed, you’re still recruiting me, still acting like I’m your top priority and you’re not out there trying to get another quarterback without telling me, or something like that … that’s my biggest thing.”

Culture has Florida in the mix for Hill

Since Hill’s decommitment from Colorado, Florida has been consistently mentioned as one of the contenders for his pledge. Hill is one of the Gators’ top targets under center and he’s already made his fair share of visits to The Swamp, including a Junior Day trip in January.

Florida signed Five-Star Plus+ QB DJ Lagway in the 2024 cycle and that has the attention of Hill, in a good way. The opportunity to learn under a touted prospect who could start for the Gators as a freshman is not lost on the 2025 recruit.

“What I like about Florida, I mean culture. Everything down there in Gainesville is about football, football, football. Great fanbase, great everything,” Hill said.

“Coach Napier being down there, great school, they’ve got Lagway from the 2024 class, great quarterback right there, so I feel like if I go there that would be a great role model for me to look up towards. I’m surprised to see what they’ve got going on this year at the quarterback position.”
