AP Poll Top 25 College Basketball Rankings released after Week 10 with new No. 1 team
The newest college basketball rankings are here as the 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 was updated after Week 10 of the season and there’s a new No. 1 team in the nation!
We’re halfway through January at this point so it’s time to see some contenders and pretenders. Conference play has been wild so far!
With that, let’s dive into the AP Poll Top 25 rankings following the conclusion of month number two.
1. Auburn (+1)
Saturday wasn’t pretty, but Auburn got it done with a win over South Carolina. The 66-63 win was a little too close for comfort.
But right now, it’s about the health of Johni Broome, who left early with an injury. If he’s out long term, it’s going to sting the Tigers.
2. Iowa State (+1)
Iowa State improved to 14-1 on the season with an 85-84 win over Texas Tech. It took overtime, but the Cyclones avoided the upset.
Curtis Jones had 26 points and one rebound. Joshua Jefferson added 17 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Next up is a ranked matchup with Kansas on Wednesday.
3. Duke (+1)
Duke highlighted the weekend with an 86-78 win over Notre Dame as freshman Cooper Flagg put up 42 points. The Blue Devils raced out to a 14-0 lead in the first half and never looked back.
Next up is Miami on Tuesday night and then a road date with Boston College on Saturday. Duke should be the heavy favorite against the rest of its schedule based on the results to this point.
4. Alabama (+1)
Over the last week, Alabama dominated South Carolina 88-68 and then beat Texas A&M on the road 94-88. With that, the team is now 14-2 on the season.

5. Florida (+3)
Florida improved to 15-1 on the eason with a 71-63 win over Arkansas that sent Razorbacks coach John Calipari for a loop. The Gators continued one of the hottest streaks of the season.
Alex Condon, Will Richard and Walter Clayton Jr. all put up 12 points in this one and Condon had 10 rebounds. Alijah Martin led the way with 14 points, four rebounds and one assist.
6. Tennessee (-5)
The Vols lost to Florida last week, in embarrassing fashion, 73-43 before bouncing back with a win. Tennessee needed the 74-70 win Saturday on the road against Texas.
Zakai Zeigler had 16 points, three rebounds and eight assists. Jordan Gainey and Darlinstone Dubar both added 12 points apiece.
