AP Poll Top 25 College Basketball Rankings released after Week 12

The newest college basketball rankings are here as the 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 was updated after Week 12 of the season.
There were some upsets so naturally, there were shakeups in the rankings. That’s just college basketball!
With that, let’s dive into the AP Poll Top 25 rankings following Week 11 of the season.
1. Auburn
Auburn won the marquee matchup of Saturday night with a win over Tennessee, which came in ranked No. 6 in the country. 53-51 is nothing to scoff at, despite the lack of a high scoring game.
Johni Broome led the way for the Tigers with 16 points, 13 rebounds and two assists. He was helped out by Chaney Johnson who put up 10 points and four rebounds.
2. Duke

Duke took care of business on the road with a 63-56 win over Wake Forest to improve to 17-2 on the season. They were well in control with a 13-point lead at halftime.
Cooper Flagg led the way with 24 points, seven rounds and six assists. Kon Knieppel added 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
3. Iowa State
Iowa State improved to 17-2 on the season with a 76-61 win over Arizona State and never looked back after trailing at halftime. The Cyclones faced a seven point deficit.
Well, they outscored ASU 43-21 in the final 20 minutes. Curtis Jones led the way with 33 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
4. Alabama
Alabama won its third game in a row with an 80-73 win over LSU Saturday. Mark Sears didn’t even play in the second half and Nate Oats made sure his team responded.
So they overcame an off night from their star to improve to 17-3 on the year. Aden Holloway led the team in scoring with 19 points and four rebounds.
5. Florida

Florida kept its amazing season going with an 89-59 win over SEC foe Georgia. It wasn’t quite a cocktail party, but Florida dominated the matchup.
Walter Clayton Jr. led the way with 17 points, three rebounds and five assists. Alijah Martin also put up 17 to go along with two rebounds and three assists.
6. Houston (+1)
Houston won an epic game over Kansas on Saturday that took two overtime periods. The 92-86 win improved the Cougars to 16-3 on the season.
J’wan Roberts led the way with 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Mylik Wilson added 18 points and six rebounds in the victory.

7. Michigan State (+1)
Michigan State fought off an early scare from Big Ten foe Rutgers that played the majority of the game with just one of its two star freshmen, Ace Bailey. The 81-74 win for the Spartans improved their record to 17-2.
Jase Richardson led the way with 20 points, four rebounds and one assist. Jaden Akins added 12 points and five rebounds.
8. Tennessee (-2)

We mentioned Tennessee before, losing 53-51 to Auburn. A close call for the Vols, who nearly knocked off the top team in the nation.
The loss dropped Tennessee to 17-3, so no need to panic! Zakai Zeigler led the way with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists in the defensive slugfest.
9. Marquette (+1)
Marquette got a big win over Villanova at home Friday going into a longer weekend. The 87-7 win pushed the Golden Eagles’ record to 17-3 on the season.
Stevie Mitchell put up 21 points, four rebounds and three assists to lead the way. Chase Ross added 18 points, four rebounds and two assists.
10. Purdue (+1)
Purdue dominated Michigan at home Friday to go into the weekend happy. The Boilermakers raced out to a 25-point lead at halftime and won 91-64.
Braden Smith put up 24 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. Fletcher Loyer added 18 points, three rebounds and one assist.
