AP Poll Top 25 College Basketball Rankings released after Week 17

The newest college basketball rankings are here as the 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 was updated after Week 17 of the season.
There were some shakeups throughout the rankings, as usual. Not to mention, there were some massive games in the SEC.
With that, let’s dive into the AP Poll Top 25 rankings following Week 17 of the season.
1. Auburn
Auburn did it again and dominated an SEC foe Saturday. This time, the Tigers beat Kentucky 94-78 after building a 15-point lead at halftime.
Miles Kelly put up 30 points, two rebounds and one assist in the win. Tahaad Pettiford came off the bench and scored 21 points, two rebounds and four assists.
2. Duke

Duke absolutely blasted Florida State over the weekend, winning 100-65. After building a 17-point lead at halftime, the Blue Devils cruised in the final 20 minutes, no problem.
Isaiah Evans put up 19 points, two rebounds and one assist. Khama Maluach added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
3. Houston (+1)
Houston clinched the Big 12 with a 73-64 win over Cincinnati on Saturday and the Cougars are looking good with two games to go. That’s now eight wins a row.
LJ Cryer put up 20 points, one rebound and one assist. Terrance Arveneaux added 10 points himself in the win.
4. Tennessee (+1)
Arguably the biggest win of the weekend came from Tennessee as the Vols beat Alabama in a top six showdown (going into the weekend). The 79-76 win was a buzzer beater victory, courtesy of Jahmai Mashack.
Chaz Lanier led the way with 18 points, four rebounds and two assists. Jordan Gainey added 18 points, three rebounds and one assist.
5. Florida (-2)

Florida just keeps on winning and they dominated Texas A&M in a ranked SEC matchup on Saturday. The 89-70 win was two complete halves from the Gators.
Will Richard put up 25 points, six rebounds and one assist in the victory. Thomas Haugh added 17 points, three rebounds and two assists.
6. St. John’s (+1)
St. John’s clinched the Big East title and beat Seton Hall 71-61 Saturday. Rick Pitino even wore the all-white suit! This team has been on one heck of a run.
RJ Luis Jr. had 21 points, six rebounds and two assists in the win. Zuby Ejiofor added a double-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and one assist.

7. Alabama (-1)
Alabama fell short and Nate Oats took the blame for losing to Tennessee. He didn’t love the set up for the end of game situation and it was a missed opportunity.
Mark Sears put up 24 points, two rebounds and four assists in the loss. Labaron Philon added 13 points, two rebounds and four assists.
8. Michigan State

A big time ranked win for Michigan State this weekend, beating Wisconsin which was knocking on the door of the top 10. The Spartans got the win 71-62.
Jaden Akins put up 19 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Jaxon Kohler put up a double-double with 10 points, 16 rebounds and two assists.
9. Texas Tech (+1)
After a tough loss to Houston, Texas Tech bounced back with a road win over Kansas. The Jayhawks have their own problems, but the Red Raiders got a much needed bounce back win.
JT Toppin put up 21 points, five rebounds and one assist in the victory. Christian Anderson added 15 points, four rebounds and six assists.
10. Iowa State (-1)
Iowa State earned another ranked win on Saturday, beating Big 12 foe Arizona 84-67. The Cyclones remained in the top 10.
Milan Momcilovic put up 17 points and three assists. Tamin Lipsey added 15 points, two rebounds and eight assists.
