There were some shakeups in the latest rankings but we also saw some teams dominate in the early slate of the season. Too early to tell to make any defining statements, but we got a little more than a month of action under our belts.

Let’s dive into the latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings after Week 5 of the season.

1. Tennessee (+2)

Tennessee beat Syracuse last week to improve to 8-0 on the season. It was a controlling 96-70 victory for the Vols.

It was a 1-1 week for Auburn as the Tigers fell to Duke 84-78 but bounced back with a dominating victory over Richmond, 98-54. Now at 9-1 on the season, this is still one of the best teams in the country.

The Duke loss was tough considering Johni Broome and Tahaad Pettiford both put up 20 points. Broome even had 12 rebounds but it wasn’t enough despite a second half comeback.

3. Iowa State (+3)

Iowa State began last week with a bang, beating Marquette 81-70 at home, getting a top five win. The Cyclones followed it up with a dominant 100-58 win over Jackson State.

The Cyclones head to rival Iowa Thursday before hosting Omaha this Sunday. At 8-1, Iowa State will be a big favorite to get to 10 wins by the end of the weekend.

4. Duke (+5)

Duke kept it rolling following its win over Auburn last Wednesday. The Blue Devils went on the road and beat Louisville 76-55 and are now 8-2 on the season.

Cooper Flagg put up 20 points, 12 rebounds and one assist in the victory. Tyrese Proctor added 13 points, two rebounds and one rebound.
