AP Poll Top 25 College Basketball Rankings released after Week 7

The newest college basketball rankings are here as the 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 was updated after Week 7 of the season.

Now that we are in the holiday season, we can clearly see the contenders of the season. There’s still a long way to go, but there are some top tier teams this season.

Let’s dive into the latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings after Week 7 of the season.

1. Tennessee

Tennessee had an easy week, beating Western Carolina back on Tuesday 84-36. Now at 11-0, the Vols are rolling as we approach the New Year.

Chaz Lanier ended the game with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Jordan Gainey added 17 points, two rebounds and two assists.

2. Auburn

If you weren’t convinced by Auburn until this week, you should be now. The Tigers manhandled Purdue on Saturday, 87-69.

Johni Broome continued his stellar season with 23 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes. Tahaad Pettiford added 18 points, three rebounds and five assists.

3. Iowa State

Iowa State is absolutely rolling, now 11-1 through the first third-plus of the season. The Cyclones dominated Morgan State 99-72.

Tamin Lipsey put up 20 points and five assists to lead the way. Joshua Jefferson had a double-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and three assists.

4. Duke (+1)

Duke handled Georgia Tech 82-56 over the weekend and also beat George Mason back on Tuesday, 68-47 for more dominant wins on the resume. Jon Scheyer and company are now 10-2.

In the win over the Yellow Jackets, Kon Kneuppel put up 18 points, four rebounds and five assists. Cooper Flagg added 13 points, four rebounds and two assists and Khaman Maluach had 15 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

5. Alabama (+1)

Alabama dominated Kent State Sunday 81-54 and are now 11-2 on the season. Nate Oats and company are rolling right now as well.

Mark Sears had 16 points, two rebounds and two assists in the win. Aden Holloway added 13 points, three rebounds and two assists.

6. Florida (+1)

Florida throttled North Florida on Saturday and are still undefeated on the season. That’s right, the Gators are 12-0 this winter.

Will Richard put up 26 points, five rebounds and two assists. Alex Condon added 12 points, 10 rebounds and one assist and Thomas Haugh and Sam Alexis also had double-doubles in this victory.

7. Kansas (+1)

Kansas dominated Brown Sunday 87-53 to get their 10th win of the season. Zeke Mayo was awesome in this one.

He had 25 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Hunter Dickinson added 15 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. The Jayhawks are back in action on New Year’s Eve against West Virginia.

8. Marquette (+1)

Marquette capped off the weekend with a wild win over Xavier, 72-70. The Golden Eagles are now 11-2 on the season.

Kameron Jones had 20 points, four rebounds and eight assists. David Joplin had 19 points, five rebounds and one assist. Marquette is back in action on New Year’s Eve against Providence.

9. Oregon (+1)

Oregon dispatched Stanford on Saturday, 76-61. The Ducks are now 11-1 on the season and further proved they are for real.

Kwame Evans Jr. had 13 points, three rebounds and one assist. Jackson Shelstad had 10 points and a rebound in this one.

10. Kentucky (-6)

What the heck happened to Kentucky on Sunday? Ohio State came in and waxed the Wildcats 85-65. Kentucky fell to 10-2 on the season.

Otega Oweh had 21 points and two rebounds. Andrew Carr added 13 points, four rebounds and two assists. Kentucky is back in action on New Year’s Eve against Brown.
