AP Poll Top 25 College Basketball Rankings released ahead of conference tournaments

The newest college basketball rankings are here as the 2024-25 AP Poll Top 25 was updated ahead of all of the conference tournaments.

There were some bangers to end the regular season, especially with rivals. Did you see Alabama-Auburn?

With that, let’s dive into the AP Poll Top 25 rankings following the final week of the regular season with conference tournaments upon us.

1. Duke (+1)

Duke ended the season the right way with an 82-69 win over North Carolina on the road. The Tar Heels gave them a fight in the first half though.

Kon Knueppel led the way with 17 points, two rebounds and three assists. Sion James and Tyrese Proctor had 16 points each with James logging eight rebounds. Cooper Flagg had 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

2. Houston (+1)

Houston ended the season with a 65-61 win over Baylor to conclude its Big 12 slate. Now, the Cougars are the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 Tournament.

The Cougars were led by LJ Cryer who put up 23 points and two rebounds. J’wan Roberts added 11 points, 10 rebounds and one assist.

3. Auburn (-2)

Auburn’s regular season ended in heartbreak with a 93-91 buzzer beater loss in overtime to rival Alabama. The Tigers still won the SEC regular season crown though.

Johni Broome put up 34 points, eight rebounds and three assists, but it wasn’t enough. Tahaad Pettiford put up 19 points, four rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes.

4. Florida (+1)

The Gators ended the year with a 90-71 win over Ole Miss to finish 27-4. What a year for Florida right?

Walter Clayton Jr. put up 23 points, five rebounds and eight assists. Alex Condon added 17 points, 15 rebounds and three assists.

5. Alabama (+2)

The Crimson Tide beat rival Auburn at the buzzer in overtime to conclude the regular season. It was an epic win and could certainly give Alabama some confidence rolling into the postseason.

Grant Nelson put up 23 points and eight rebounds. Clifford Omoruyi put up 15 points and eight rebounds for one of his better games of the year.

6. St. John’s

It took overtime, but St. John’s edged out Marquette in overtime in an epic 86-84 win. The Red Storm finished the season 27-4 going into the postseason.

RJ Luis Jr. led the way with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Zuby Ejiofor put up 17 points, 12 rebounds and one assist.

7. Michigan State (+1)

The Spartans got into a little tiffy with Michigan after beating their rival in East Lansing. The Spartans won 79-62 and go into the postseason No. 1 in the Big Ten.

Tre Holloman had 20 points, three rebounds and one assist. Jase Richardson added 18 points, five rebounds and three assists.

8. Tennessee (-4)

Tennessee ended the right way with a 75-65 win over South Carolina to conclude its regular season. The Vols finished 25-6.

Chaz Lanier put up 23 points, four rebounds and three assists. Cade Phillips had 15 points and four rebounds in the win.

9. Texas Tech

It was a dominant affair for Texas Tech to conclude the regular season. The Red Raiders beat Arizona State 85-57.

JT Toppin put up 25 points, 11 rebounds and four rebounds to lead the way. Christian Anderson added 21 points and three rebounds.

10. Clemson (+1)

Clemson has quietly put together a top 10 type of season in 2024-25. The Tigers beat Virginia Tech 65-47 to end the season.

Viktor Larkin put up 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Jaeden Zackery added 12 points, two rebounds and four assists.
