AP Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings released after Week 13
On3

The latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings are in after Week 13 of college football and there were some shake ups following another wild weekend!

The SEC was an absolute mess from start to finish Saturday. But, there were some teams that came away unscathed. The ripple effects are real though!

Let’s dive into the newest AP Poll Top 25 rankings after Week 13.

1. Oregon

Oregon will take on Washington next week to end the regular season but already have a Big Ten title game berth wrapped up. To keep the No. 1 seed though, they’ll have to win out and finish 13-0.

Still, everything is in front of the Ducks right now. The bye week came at a beautiful time to get rested up before these next two games ahead of the playoff.

2. Ohio State

Ohio State shook off a quick deficit and dominated Indiana 38-15 to knock the Hoosiers from the ranks of the unbeaten. The path is clear now, beat Michigan and get to the Big Ten Championship game.

Yes, there was a one point loss to Oregon, but the Buckeyes might have an argument for best team in college football. At least, based on recent weeks and the way they’ve responded.

3. Texas

Texas was never really in danger of losing to Kentucky. You can thank the Longhorns’ defense, which could be key for an SEC or national title in a few weeks.

The concern is the offense, but Texas just keeps winning. The question is, can they keep it up with the current formula or is Quinn Ewers going to have to improve and win a game himself at some point?

4. Penn State

Penn State went on the road and took every punch from Minnesota. But the Nittany Lions got the win in the end 26-25, narrowly avoiding the upset.

Maryland is next and a win there could essentially clinch a playoff spot for Penn State. And, there’s still an outside shot at the Big Ten Championship.

5. Notre Dame (+1)

A lot of people wanted to see how Notre Dame would match up against Army. It turns out, very well indeed.

Notre Dame dominated them 49-14 to win their ninth game in a row and improve to 10-1 on the season. One more win basically wraps up a playoff spot for the Fighting Irish.

6. Georgia (+2)

Georgia dominated UMass while the SEC practically fell apart around them. With that, the Bulldogs clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game.

Now, they’ll await Texas or Texas A&M in Atlanta. What looked like a down year is suddenly shifting back to normal, at least in Athens.

7. Tennessee (+3)

Tennessee was the beneficiary of a non-conference opponent and SEC chaos around them. Now at 9-2, Tennessee is certainly in the driver’s seat to clinch a playoff spot.

Getting win No. 10 over Vanderbilt next week is paramount. If they don’t, the bracket might be finalized without the Vols.

8. Miami (+3)

Miami needed a loss right? They bounced back in a big way with a 42-14 win over Wake Forest and there was no dangerous play necessary.

The Hurricanes still have to beat Syracuse to clinch a spot in the ACC Championship. But Mario Cristobal and company should feel a lot better on this Sunday compared to last.

9. SMU (+4)

SMU clinched its first trip to the ACC Championship Game in the first year in the Power Four. Gotta love it right? The Mustangs await Miami or Clemson.

So now, Rhett Lashlee and company have a clear path to the playoff. Just win the ACC. But also, avoid a loss in the regular season finale to Cal.

10. Indiana (-5)

Indiana got smacked, make no mistake about it. But the Hoosiers are still 10-1 and if they dominate Purdue next weekend, they’ll make their case for the playoff at 11-1, even without a conference title.

Indiana actually isn’t out of the BIg Ten race. The Hoosiers just need a lot of help next week in order to play a conference title game close to home.
