AP Poll Top 25 College Football Rankings released after Week 4
The latest AP Top 25 rankings are in after Week 4 of college football and there were some shake ups.
College football loves to bring us chaos and we had a little bit of it this weekend. How these storylines will play out as the season progresses, remains to be seen.
Let’s dive into the newest AP Poll Top 25 rankings after Week 4.
1. Texas
What to make of Texas in this one? Well, Arch Manning made his first career start but showed some growing pains.
Yes, he had a decent stat line and threw for two touchdowns, but he threw two interceptions. No matter, don’t press any alarm bells. Texas is still worthy of being the best team in the country.
2. Georgia
What to make of Georgia during a bye week? Well, not much actually. The negative is Tate Ratledge is out for four to six weeks after ankle surgery.
The good news is, Georgia can prove it’s, arguably, the best team in the country with a win over fellow Top 5 Alabama this coming weekend. Tune in to find out.
3. Ohio State
Ohio State had some work to do after trailing early, but the 49-14 win over Marshall was mostly on cruise control. The defense settled in and the offense didn’t miss any beats.
Will Howard was effective, Quinshon Judkins was dominant and TreVeyon Henderson added to the run game. Oh yeah, freshman Jeremiah Smith scored again.

4. Alabama
Alabama, like Georgia, was off this weekend. Coming off a dominant display in Madison where the Badgers had no chance, the Crimson Tide felt good about themselves.
College GameDay comes to Tuscaloosa this coming weekend, making the UGA-Bama game must-see TV. Not that it wasn’t already though, right?
5. Tennessee (+1)
Josh Heupel had a great homecoming as his Tennessee Volunteers beat his alma mater 25-15. Oklahoma was seemingly out of it early and couldn’t recover.
They made it a game late, but Jackson Arnold was benched and the Vols did enough to remain unbeaten. With the win, Tennessee certainly moved up in the SEC pecking order.
6. Ole Miss (-1)
Ole Miss might have a Heisman winning quarterback by the end of the season. Jackson Dart just put up more absurd numbers in the 52-13 win over Georgia Southern.
He totaled 382 yards and four touchdowns. But now, it’s time to pivot towards SEC play and really see what this Rebels team is made of.

7. Miami (+1)
Miami steamrolled USF on Saturday. A final score of 50-15 may look pretty lopsided, and it is, but the Hurricanes trailed 15-14 at one point.
Still, Cam Ward kept his Heisman campaign rolling with 400+ yards passing and three touchdowns. The second half? Man, those Hurricanes looked completely different after a rough 30 minutes.
8. Oregon (+1)
Another team with a bye week as Oregon took some time following a dominant victory over rival Oregon State. The Ducks open Big Ten play against UCLA this coming weekend.
The Ducks are surely going to be a big favorite against the Bruins. Based on what we saw last weekend, Oregon turned the corner and turned back into a title contender.
9. Penn State (+1)
Penn State bounced back in a big way with a 56-0 shutout win over Kent State. It was much needed after a closer-than-anticipated win over Bowling Green two weeks ago.
Drew Allar found a new-ish target in tight end Tyler Warren. Warren reeled in five catches for 50 yards and a score. He also ran for 16 yards on a direct snap and threw a 16-yard touchdown pass. New weapon unlocked.
10. Utah (+2)
Utah got the win despite not playing Cam Rising at quarterback. Isaac Wilson started again and helped the Utes knock off Oklahoma State in a ranked Big 12 game.
Micah Bernard was awesome, rushing for 182 yards and converted a key first down to run out the clock. The defense dominated too, limiting OKST below 300 yards of total offense.

There was some movement in the latter half as well and there are some teams we have to take a look at moving forward. The USC-Michigan game raised some eyebrows and the trajectory in future polls is fascinating. We move onto Week 5.
