AP Poll Top 25 revealed following Week 11 of college basketball season
The latest AP Poll top 25 rankings are in after Week 11 of the college basketball season and it was a productive weekend for the top teams.
Sure there were upsets, but that’s college basketball folks. But after the mid-January mark, it was pretty much par for the course within the top 10 teams.
Let’s dive into the latest AP Poll following the 11th week of the college basketball season.
1. UConn
UConn narrowly avoided an upset against Villanova by beating the Wildcats by a point. That win put the Huskies at 17-2 on the year and it followed up a ranked win over Creighton.
In the win over Villanova, Tristen Newton put up 25 points, six rebounds and three assists. Cam Spencer added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists.
2. Purdue
Purdue won by double digits over Indiana and Iowa on the road to cap off another solid week of basketball. The latest win over the Hawkeyes put the Boilermakers at 17-2 on the season.
In the win over Iowa, Zach Edey was his usual dominant self with 30 points and 18 rebounds. It’s basically clockwork at this point. Lance Jones added 17 points and six rebounds.
3. North Carolina (+1)
North Carolina improved to 15-3 with wins over Louisville and Boston College in its last two games. Going on the road to face the Eagles, UNC won by 10 to cruise to another win.
It was a pretty evenly distributed game for the Tar Heels offensively. RJ Davis put up 16 points, six rebounds and four assists. Cormac Ryan added 14 points for UNC.
4. Houston (+1)
It was a great bounce back week for Houston, improving to 16-2 on the season with wins over a ranked Texas Tech squad and then a controlling win over UCF. It was much needed after being knocked off the ranks of the unbeaten.
In the win over UCF, LJ Cryer put up 16 points while Jamal Shead and Ja’Vier Francis each added 10 points in a low scoring affair. Still, the Cougars got back on track.
5. Tennessee (+1)
Tennessee looked dominant over the last week with 19 and 20-point victories over Florida and Alabama, respectively. Well done Rick Barnes.
In the win over Alabama, Dalton Knecht had 25 points, four rebounds and two assists. Jordan Gainey added 15 points, five rebounds and one assist in the win.
6. Kentucky (+2)
Kentucky also had a productive week with wins over Mississippi State and Georgia. The Wildcats put up 105 points in the win over the Bulldogs of the Georgia variety Saturday.
Tre Mitchell put up 23 points, five rebounds and four assists while Antonio Reeves had 21 points, five rebounds and four assists. That’s a great game for the pair.
7. Kansas (-4)
After a dominant win over Oklahoma State, Kansas suffered an upset loss to West Virginia, a little surprising even on the road. Hey, it happens.

In the 91-85 loss to the Mountaineers, Kevin McCullar Jr. put up 24 points, four rebounds and five assists. Hunter Dickinson added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists.
8. Auburn (+5)
Auburn put a stamp on its conference pedigree with a ranked win over Ole Miss Saturday at home. The win put Bruce Pearl’s crew to 16-2 on the season.
Auburn won 82-59 and got a lot of guys into the rotation over the weekend. Jaylin Williams and Johni Broome each had 13 points in just a little over 20 minutes of game time. Dylan Cardwell added 12 points.
9. Arizona (+3)
The Wildcats got back on track with wins over USC and UCLA, sweeping the Cali opponents when they came into their building. Arizona is now 14-4 on the season.
Pelle Larson put up 22 points, three rebounds and four assists in the win over UCLA. Oumar Ballo added 17 points, 13 rebounds and one assist, giving him another double-double.
10. Illinois (+4)
Illinois pretty much dominated Michigan and Rutgers over the last two games and are now in the top 10. Brad Underwood’s team might be hitting a midseason stride.
In the win over Rutgers, Justin Harmon had 18 points, eight rebounds and one assist. Terrence Shannon returned and had 16 points in the 15th win of the year for the Fighting Illini.
