Only two top ten teams lost in Week 13, but many others fell in the top 25
For the first time in a while, it was a relatively clean week for the majority of the top ten. Only two teams ranked in last week’s AP Top 25 Poll lost in Week 13: UCLA and Baylor. UCLA actually lost both of its games on the week, falling to Arizona and Arizona State. Baylor went 1-1 after beating West Virginia and being blown out by Kansas.
Auburn survived an upset bid from Georgia, improving to 2-0 on the week, also picking up a win against Alabama. Gonzaga, Purdue, Kentucky, Houston, Arizona, Duke, and Kansas all also went 2-0 during Week 13. Arizona picked up two ranked wins against UCLA and USC on the week, resulting in a bit of a rise in this week’s poll.
For teams ranked 11-25 in last week’s AP Poll, only six teams escaped unscathed in Week 13. Texas Tech, Providence, Illinois, and Tennessee went 2-0 on the week, while Ohio State and Marquette each went 1-0. It was a rough week for UConn, Iowa State and LSU, with each going 0-2. UConn lost to Creighton and Villanova. Iowa State fell in two ranked games against Texas and Kansas. LSU suffered two tough SEC losses against Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.

With right around a month remaining in the regular season, there will undoubtedly be plenty of changes in the rankings in the coming weeks. The AP Poll top 25 has changed from week-to-week all season long, and that was no different following Week 13.
Iowa State and LSU both fell out of the top 25 following Week 13. Saint Mary’s and Murray State took their places. Wyoming (82 votes), Arkansas (74), Iowa State (48), Davidson (35), Boise State (22), and Wake Forest (21) are among the teams just short of the top 25.
