AP Top 25 Poll shaken up following exciting championship weekend of college football

Championship weekend has come and went, and the AP Top 25 Poll is seeing some serious movement.

It all started with USC falling to Utah once again. Caleb Williams may be the Heisman front-runner, but he’ll likely miss out on the College Football Playoff following another loss to the Utes. He was hobbled, bloody and fighting for his team, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a ferocious Utah defense.

That lended some hope to Ohio State and Alabama, who were sitting at home after not being able to make it to their respective championship games. Still, like the rest of us, both squads enjoyed some wild showdowns, although the Buckeyes and the Crimson Tide probably sweated the games out a little more intensely.

First on the Saturday docket was the Big 12 Championship Game, which delivered some wonderful entertainment once again. TCU quarterback Max Duggan did all he could to bring a victory to the Horned Frogs, but Kansas State was able to capture the title in overtime.

While TCU may be unsure of their College Football Playoff future, two teams that aren’t include Georgia and Michigan. Both captured their conference titles in dominating fashion on Saturday, and the Bulldogs and Wolverines will be playing for a national title.
