Week 5 of college basketball action provided surprising comebacks, overtime battles, and the toppling of the No. 1 team in the nation. The new AP Top 25 poll reflects all the latest upsets and victories from the top teams across the country.

The top 25 win of the week came from down in the Space City. Alabama went into the Fertitta Center at Houston on Saturday evening and came back from 15 down to defeat the top-ranked Cougars. They managed to pull it off even without a strong showing from five-star freshman Brandon Miller.

It wasn’t just a big win for the Tide but it was a historic one too. It was only the second time a team has beaten two No. 1 squads before the turn of the year. North Carolina dropped a four-overtime game to the Crimson Tide earlier this season.

Thanks to Nate Oats and the Tide handling Houston, undefeated Purdue has moved into the No. 1 spot. Also, since Texas lost to Illinois 85-78 in overtime on Tuesday, the Longhorns lost their No. 2 ranking in favor of still-undefeated Virginia. The 11-0 UConn Huskies come in at No. 3 this week.

There are a few new teams in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll, as the college basketball hierarchy continues to take shape. With plenty of games left to play, more changes are surely on the way. Check out the AP Top 25 after Week 5.
