Entering Week 13, everyone knew what was on the line. With plenty of rivalry matchups taking place all over the country, many of which had major postseason implications at play, the action was very highly anticipated. The results across Week 13 have shaken up the picture yet again, and that is apparent in the updated AP Top 25 Poll.

Georgia Tech played No. 1 Georgia closely for a bit, but the Bulldogs pulled away and wrapped up their second consecutive perfect regular season. No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan battled in The Game, one of the top rivalries in all of sports. Michigan played exceptionally well, pulling out a 45-23 win to essentially lock the Wolverines’ spot up in the College Football Playoff. No. 4 TCU might have played its best game of the year against Iowa State, winning 62-14.

USC, ranked No. 5 in last week’s AP Poll and No. 6 in last week’s CFP rankings, battled against No. 13 Notre Dame and likely secured its spot, for now, inside the top four with an impressive victory. The same can’t be said for No. 6 LSU or No. 7 Clemson. LSU lost 38-23 against Texas A&M, while Clemson fell 31-30 against South Carolina. Clemson likely needed a lot of help to make the Playoff anyways, but the Tigers are assuredly out of the running now, as are the Tigers from Baton Rouge.

No. 10 Oregon held a 31-10 lead over No. 22 Oregon State late in the third quarter, but the Beavers outscored the Ducks 21-3 in the fourth quarter and came away with a 38-34 win. No. 18 North Carolina fell against NC State, while No. 20 Ole Miss lost in the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State.

No. 19 Tulane and No. 21 Cincinnati battled in a pivotal AAC contest with a spot in the AAC title game still in play for both teams. Ultimately, Tulane escaped with a narrow 27-24 victory to secure the AAC Championship Game on its home field.
