Arizona Cardinals expected to hire Florida tight ends coach William Peagler
Patrick Toney isn’t the only Florida assistant headed to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals are also expected to hire Florida tight ends coach William Peagler, sources tell On3.
Peagler spent last season with the Gators after working for two years as the running backs coach at Michigan State, where he helped Kenneth Walker III break out as a national star in 2021 while winning the Doak Walker Award and earning unanimous All-American recognition.
Before Michigan State, Peagler was a quality control coach at Colorado (2019), the director of player personnel and quality control coordinator at Louisiana (2018) and a graduate assistant at Georgia (2017).
Peagler and Toney, who’s leaving his post as the Gators’ defensive coordinator to be a defensive backs coach with the Cardinals, will be working under new Arizona head coach Jonathan Gannon. Gannon was hired by the Cardinals last week after two seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator.
