Arizona is making in-state WR Legend Bernard feel like a top target
GILBERT, Ari. – There was a little buzz in the air around Legend Bernard. The 2024 wide receiver out of Hamilton High has offers from Arizona, Colorado State, Massachusetts and Northern Arizona. More are on the way.
Since Kenny Dillingham took over at Arizona State, the Sun Devils have started to show more interest. Colorado has shown the 6-foot-1, 180-pound junior that he is on their radar.
Bernard is staying patient. He is taking his time with the recruiting process and he plans to get back on the road in the spring.
His options are open, but Arizona has done a great job early of letting him know he is important to them.
“During the season, they would wish me luck before every game,” Bernard told On3. “They would always invite me to games and try to get me on campus. The coaches at Arizona always want to talk with me, they always want me on campus and that means a lot.”

Wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings is Bernard’s lead recruiter. Other off-the-field staff members are in communication with Bernard too. He plans to visit Tuscon again and he is high on the in-state school.
“I have visited Arizona three times and I will be back. The location is big for me and it would be great to stay home. They have shown me they really want to improve and win. The coaches are serious about building something there and I see the Arizona program coming up. I really like what they are doing.”
When it comes time for Bernard to make his decision, he is looking for a program that is all in on building a winning team, coaches that care about players and a staff that develops players.
