Arizona LB Jacob Manu plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal
Arizona LB Jacob Manu plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal.
That news comes per On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Sunday. Now, after staying with the program amidst last offseason’s coaching change, Manu will leave Tucson with one year of eligibility remaining in college.
Manu spent the past three seasons on the Wildcats’ defense with 30-plus appearances and almost all of those being starts at linebacker.
In total, Manu has had 206 tackles, 7.5 sacks, six deflections, and an interception for Arizona. Most of that came in 2023 when he had 105 tackles, 6.5 sacks, two deflections, and his pick as a sophomore. That made him a First Team All Pac-12 selection last fall.
However, Manu was unable to fully follow that up this season after a season-ending injury in mid-October.

Manu, an Anaheim native, played high school football at Servite where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 851 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-100 LB in the class and a Top-75 player out of the state of California.
Manu stayed, like several players did, after the change in leadership this last year at Arizona. However, he’ll be entering the portal in the coming days with a very productive defender now available for transfer.
