With Jake Fette committed in 2026, Arizona State coach Kenny Dillingham has QB room set for years to come
Arizona State had a magical second season of the Kenny Dillingham era, winning the Big 12, earning a bye in the College Football Playoff and then nearly knocking off powerhouse Texas in a 39-31 double overtime thriller.
Not bad for a program predicted to finish last in the league in the preseason.
The Sun Devils showed they were for real this past fall, and with Heisman candidate quarterback Sam Leavitt locked in and returning next season, Dillingham and his staff want to build on the success and go even further in 2025.
And they’re not stopping there.
To be a consistent program long-term, you can really only be as good as the guy you have under center. Leavitt showed he was one of the nation’s best as a red-shirt freshman.
A prideful Arizona State alum, Dillingham and company have their guy down the road as well.
The buzz behind the scenes from college coaches is extremely strong regarding El Paso (Texas) Del Valle High quarterback and Arizona State 2026 commit Jake Fette. Committed to the Sun Devils since September which was well before Leavitt blew up and took the sport by storm, the 6-foot-2. 190-pound Fette has all the talent to keep it rolling under center for ASU.
As a junior, Fette blistered defenses as one of the top dual-threat guys in America, throwing for 2,488 yards and 31 touchdowns to just one interception, with another 589 yards rushing and 11 scores in an 11-1 season.
Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU and Auburn have offered Fetty recently but he’s excited about his future playing for Dillingham at Arizona State.
“You know being committed to ASU right now is a big-time thing,” Fette said. “Coming off a season like they did all I can think about is how I can impact the school when I get there.

“Coach Dilly and the guys up there did a tremendous job this year and it just leads me to be more and more excited to be a Sun Devil.”
Offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo and Dillingham have built a strong rapport with Fette and he likes the way those guys get the best out of their players.
“Really mainly the culture they base their program around,” Fette said. “They don’t care how many stars you have or how many followers you have. They’re just looking for (someone) who loves the game and want to ball.”
On3 loves Fette, ranking him the highest in the industry. We slot him as the No. 5 quarterback and No. 55 prospect overall. The On3 Industry tabs him No. 9 and No. 120 respectively.
Besides the schools mentioned, Fette holds offers from Baylor, SMU, TCU, Texas Tech, Kansas and Cal. He is one of four players committed to the Sun Devils in the 2026 class.
