Arizona cornerback transfer Tacario Davis committed to Washington, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will arrive in Seattle as one of the top transfer portal additions in the country.

Davis spent three years at Arizona and put together a breakout season in 2024. He set a new career-high with 44 tackles and two tackles for loss, cementing himself as a key piece of the Wildcats defense. He entered the portal Dec. 11 with one year of eligibility remaining.

After officially entering the portal, Davis became the No. 14 overall player to hit the open market, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. He is also the top-ranked cornerback transfer so far this cycle.

Davis played in five games as a true freshman before taking on a larger role as a sophomore in 2023. He had 25 tackles, including one for loss, and his first career interception that season. That set him up for a leap forward in 2024 before entering the portal and now reuniting with Jedd Fisch at Washington.

Davis played high school football at Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,153 overall player from the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Tacario Davis could’ve declared for the 2025 NFL Draft after three years of college football. However, he’s now heading to Washington to once again play for Jedd Fisch after their time together at Arizona.

Fisch is coming off an up-and-down first season at Washington. The Huskies made the national championship under Kalen DeBoer, but went 6-7 in Year 1 under Fisch, including a 35-34 loss to Louisville in the Sun Bowl. UW has been active in the transfer portal, though, and now have Davis coming in to fortify its new-look defense.

After Steve Belichick left to join his father, Bill, at North Carolina, Fisch aimed high at defensive coordinator. Former Purdue head coach Ryan Walters – who was a highly regarded defensive coordinator at Illinois before his two years with the Boilermakers – is on his way in to take over. He inherits a unit that allowed 23.8 points in 2024.
