Arkansas defensive back transfer Lorando Johnson commits to Baylor, returning to original school
Arkansas defensive back Lorando “Snaxx” Johnson has made an interesting decision in the NCAA transfer portal, opting to head back to Baylor, his original school.
Johnson spent three years with the Bears before transferring to the Razorbacks ahead of the 2023 season. He started 12 games for the Hogs before opting to enter the NCAA transfer portal again.
Now he’ll be headed back to Waco, Texas.
“[I] was tripping gang my bad [I]’m back tho,” Johnson wrote on Twitter, before adding, “PS: I LOVE YOU COACH ARANDA!”
In his lone season at Arkansas, Johnson had his most productive year yet, racking up 29 tackles, 4.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, an interception with a defensive touchdown, as well as six pass breakups.
In his four-year career he has now totaled 49 tackles, 6.0 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, an interception with a defensive touchdown and 11 pass breakups.
Prior to enrolling at Baylor and later transferring to Arkansas and then back to Baylor again, Lorando “Snaxx” Johnson was a four-star prospect and the No. 361 overall recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
He also checked in as the No. 33 cornerback and the No. 51 overall player in the state of Texas, hailing from Lancaster (TX) Lancaster.

Baylor loses wide receiver to the portal
Baylor wide receiver Armani Winfield officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday evening, On3’s Pete Nakos has learned. The former four-star prospect has played in 15 career games with eight receptions for 100 yards.
In 2022, Winfield redshirted, playing in three games: Albany, BYU, and Texas State. He hauled in a 10-yard catch vs. Albany.
In high school, he suited up for Lewisville High School, guiding the team to an 11-2 overall record as a senior. Winfield also hauled in 66 catches for 1,006 yards and eight touchdowns. He wrapped up his decorated high school career with 191 catches, 2,678 yards, and 26 touchdowns.
Winfield was honored as an Under Armour All-American in high school. A dynamic athlete, he also ran track. Winfield also chose the Bears over Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Florida State, and Ole Miss, among others.
