Hattiesburg (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kevin Oatis has committed to Arkansas, he tells On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

The 6-foot-1, 285-pounder chose the Razorbacks over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU and others.

Oatis is the No. 331 overall prospect and No. 27 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Mississippi.

He logged an official visit to Fayetteville on the weekend of May 31 and has owned an offer from Sam Pittman and Co. since January 2023. He becomes the fourth blue-chipper to pledge to the Razorbacks in the 2025 cycle.

Oatis was an All-State selection in Mississippi as a junior and was also crowned a state champion in shot put. Ahead of his senior season, he was named to the Clarion Ledger’s Dandy Dozen, highlighting its top 12 players in the Magnolia State.

Hogs add major commitment to 2025 class

With Oatis now in the mix, Arkansas has 22 total commitments in its 2025 class — which ranks No. 29 in the nation and No. 13 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace spurned Florida State and other SEC programs for Arkansas in a massive recruiting win on July 2. Now the No. 65 overall recruit, Wallace is also the No. 3 LB in the senior cycle. Defensive coordinator Travis Williams was instrumental in the Hogs’ successful efforts.

“I never thought I would consider them in any way possible, but you know T-Will, that’s my dog and when I took my first OV out there I was like ‘it’s going to be nothing but country living,’ but when I went up there I fell in love with it,” Wallace previously told On3. “Coach Pittman, that’s my dog. Coach (Jake) Trump and the players around, if I went there it would be because of the people, the atmosphere and the culture and the things they’re doing around there.”

The class also features a blue-chip quarterback in North Little Rock (Ark.) Central Arkansas Christian four-star Grayson Wilson. The 6-foot-3 gunslinger is a top-400 recruit and the No. 27 QB in the nation, per the On3 Industry Ranking.

Other top commits in the 2025 class include: Saint Cloud (Fla.) Osceola On3 four-star offensive tackle Connor Howes, Jackson (Miss.) Hartfield Academy three-star defensive lineman Reginald Vaughn, Terrell (Texas) three-star EDGE Keiundre Johnson and Boynton Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central three-star wide receiver Kamare Williams.
