Former Troy EDGE Phillip Lee has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Lee has just one year of eligibility remaining and will play his final season of college football inside the SEC. A big-time pickup for Arkansas and head coach Sam Pittman.

“BREAKING: Troy star EDGE Phillip Lee has Committed to Arkansas, he tells @on3sports,” Fawcett said via X. “The 6’4 240 EDGE totaled 31 Tackles, 11 TFL, 5 Sacks, 1 FF, & 1 PD last season. 1 year of eligibility remaining.”

Lee was a three-star prospect according to the On3 Industry Transfer Portal Rankings. He was the No. 406 player to enter this cycle and just missed out on the top 50 when just looking at the EDGE position, coming in at No. 52.

The 2024 season was undoubtedly the best for Lee during his three-year career. In 12 games, Lee recorded 32 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and five sacks. All three of those were the best of his time with Troy.

Just one game against a power conference foe took place. Iowa hosted the Trojans in mid-September and just looking at the stat line, Lee had a respectable performance. While he had just one tackle, it did come in the backfield for a TFL.

Arkansas is hoping those performances can now come on a weekly basis in the SEC. Finding guys who can rush the passer is never easy in college football, let alone the transfer portal. Pittman will be hoping Lee can be a gem for the Razorbacks during an important 2025 season.

Arkansas lands cornerback Julian Neal out of transfer portal

Former Stanford cornerback Julian Neal has committed to Arkansas out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He played last season at Fresno State.

Neal was a reserve on the Fresno State defensive unit for the first two seasons of his college career before having a breakout junior season this past fall. He totaled 35 tackles, including 22 solo as well as five pass breakups, two interceptions and one sack.

Before college, Neal was a three-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,460 overall recruit in the 2022 class, as well as the No. 79 player in his position that cycle.
