Arkansas OL Ty'kieast Crawford enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Arkansas offensive lineman Ty’kieast Crawford is in the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. Crawford began his college career at Charlotte.

A Class of 2020 signee, Crawford will have one year of eligibility remaining. He was a four-star recruit as a high school prospect.

Crawford spent the 2020 season at Charlotte before transferring and playing at Arkansas from 2021-24.

With the 49ers, Crawford played in six games and made three starts. That season didn’t count toward his eligibility as it was during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During his first three seasons at Arkansas, Crawford played in 32 games, mostly as a special teamer and reserve lineman. He made four starts on the offensive line during the 2023 season.

He played in just one game in 2024.

Sam Pittman is set to return as Arkansas’ head coach in 2025

Sam Pittman will reportedly be back for another season at Arkansas.

On Monday, Brett McMurphy of Action Network tweeted that Pittman will return for a sixth season as the head coach of the ‘Hogs per sources in Fayetteville.

“Arkansas coach Sam Pittman will return in 2025, source close to program told @ActionNetworkHQ,” wrote McMurphy on Twitter. “There was speculation Pittman may retire, but Pittman, 29-31 w/3 bowl games, will return for 6th season at UA.”

On3’s Pete Nakos has confirmed as much as well with how Pittman is approaching next fall at Arkansas.

“In recent days, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman has met with assistants and coordinators to discuss plans for the 2025 season, a source told [On3],” Nakos tweeted.

This comes after this was seen as a pivotal year for Pittman. He quieted any conversations about a firing of him with a 4-2 start to this year, specifically after a win over No. 4 Tennessee. However, there had also been thoughts on if Pittman would go ahead and retire from coaching as well. That’s with him having just turned 63 years old in the last week. He’s also, of note, scheduled to have a hip replacement tomorrow.

Arkansas, after improving on both sides of the ball, finished this season at 6-6 overall. The Razorbacks had wins at Auburn over Tennessee as well as a close loss in overtime at Oklahoma State, even though the ‘Pokes finished much worse than their preseason projections were. Still, they also lost four of their final six from there, albeit all to ranked opponents, by an average margin of 18.3 points.

With that, Pittman has an overall record of 29-31 (.483) at Arkansas. Besides a 9-4 finish in 2021, the Boss Hog has had so-so results in his other four years in Fayetteville. He has had two bowl appearances, both of which were wins, with a third coming this season. He has also had two other seasons respectively with just three wins in 2020 and four wins in 2023. Even so, .500 this year appears as though it was enough to give him at least one more season.
