Arkansas and TCU were slated to play the nightcap game in the winners bracket of the Fayetteville Regional on Saturday night, but Mother Nature had other ideas. With weather putting a hold on the first game of the day between Santa Clara and Arizona in the losers bracket.

The winner of the Santa Clara-Arizona game will face the loser of Arkansas-TCU. A start time on Sunday for the Arkansas-TCU contest is yet to be decided.

Santa Clara and Arizona resumed play just after 8 p.m. on Saturday.

It’s one of many weather delays throwing a wrench in the NCAA tournament’s first weekend, with the Coral Gables Regional being disrupted by a number of weather delays on Friday and Saturday.

Tavian Josenberger addresses the relief of a breaking out offensively, missing the bunt that led his HR

Tavian Josenberger is elated to see the Arkansas Razorbacks are finally finding the success on offense they’ve been looking for.

The Arkansas outfielder played a pivotal role in the Razorbacks’ 13-6 win over Santa Clara on Friday, and afterwards he elaborated on what it meant to see his team’s bats wake up in the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

“It was really good,” responded Josenberger, asked how good it felt for the offense to finally break out in the fourth inning. “I think we, even though we didn’t have any hits through three or four, we stayed confident. We did hit a lot of balls hard, right at people, so we just stuck with the approach, and finally got some big hits.”

According to Josenberger, it was simply a matter of time until Arkansas got their sticks working the right way, and it all came full circle.

“100%. 100%,” added the Arkansas star, asked if he felt it was just a matter of time until the Razorbacks got back into their offense groove. “The guys that have been struggling, including myself, were staying positive. Waiting to break out. I think this weekend is a perfect time to do so.”

Moreover, Josenberger helped the cause with a home run, but he certainly wasn’t expecting to knock one over the fence, as he went up to bat looking to bunt.

“It’s pretty cool,” Josenberger said, regarding his long ball. “I’m not up there trying to hit home runs, by any means, but I think just the added strength helps out with that, and being able to backspin a ball on poolside, or backside. I mean yeah, it’s a cool thing I guess, but I’m not up there trying to hit balls out of the yard.”
