Arkansas transfer guard Davonte Davis commits to Oklahoma State
Arkansas transfer guard Davonte Davis has committed to Oklahoma State, On3 has learned.
Davis was originally committed to Oklahoma State out of high school before eventually flipping his commitment to the Razorbacks. Spending the past four seasons at Arkansas before deciding to return to Stillwater for the final season of his college career with is commitment on Monday. Joining forces with first-year Cowboys head coach Steve Lutz despite him not recruiting Davis out of high school.
“Devo is a great person from a great family, and he has an incredibly engaging personality,” Lutz said. “Cowboy fans will see some of that same energy out on the basketball court. He is a multi-dimensional athlete who plays with effort and purpose on both ends. He’s made big plays in big moments over the course of his career, and I’m confident he’ll do the same here at Oklahoma State.”
Davis played his high school basketball Jacksonville High School in Arkansas, where he was a four-star recruit. Ranked the No. 125 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 10 combo guard from the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He brings experience and defensive prowess to the table for Oklahoma State, entering the transfer portal this offseason after appearing in 132 games with 85 starts in his collegiate career. Also named to the SEC All-Defense Team following the 2022-2023 season after averaging a career high 1.4 steals per game. A season where he also averaged a career-high 10.9 points per game.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound guard also has plenty of postseason experience as well, playing in 11 NCAA Tournament games in his career and eight conference tournament matchups. Playing a crucial role in Arkansas’ consecutive appearances in the Elite Eight during his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Razorbacks.
For his career Davis has averaged 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Joining the Cowboys with over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 300 assists under his belt during his four-year college career.
