Auburn 5-star QB commit Deuce Knight visiting Ole Miss
Another one of the top prospects in the state of Mississippi is in Oxford this weekend visiting Ole Miss.
Lucedale (Miss.) George County five-star quarterback Deuce Knight has long been a target for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels, but the former Notre Dame commit flipped his pledge to Auburn at the beginning of October.
Knight has essentially been a season-ticket holder on The Plains, visiting Auburn for just about every home game this season. The Tigers are off this weekend, though, and the 6-foot-4.5 gunslinger is staying in the Magnolia State this time around to take in a crucial SEC tilt between the Rebels and Georgia.
“I really like Ole Miss, I’m not going to sugarcoat it,” Knight said at the On3 Elite Series this summer. “They’ve got Coach Kiffin, that’s all they really need. He’s proven that he scores a lot of points, he wins a lot of games and then he’s not scared to start a true freshman at quarterback … the experience him and Coach Weiss have, just being around big-time guys.”

Ole Miss is still swinging for the top in-state prospects in the 2025 cycle, as its also working hard to flip Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County five-star wide receiver and Alabama commit Caleb Cunningham — who’s also inside Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this afternoon. The Tide also hold a commitment from Quitman (Miss.) four-star running back Akylin Dear, a former Ole Miss pledge.
Of the top 15 players in Mississippi, per the On3 Industry Ranking, the Rebels have commitments from four. Kiffin’s class features 18 commits in total and ranks No. 18 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Knight is the No. 32 overall prospect and No. 6 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Mississippi.
