Auburn commit Damari Alston the among stars on Friday night
Friday night’s region championship game between Woodward Academy and Creekside featured a few names that have been hot in the recruiting world recently. The highlights were led by an established Auburn commit carrying the load.
Auburn commit Damari Alston leads way to region championship
Alston broke Woodward Academy’s official school record for career rushing yards two weeks ago. He added to that total in a major way on Friday night.
Alston ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries on Friday night.
The big play came on an 81-yard scamper that put Woodward in the lead for good.
Fast-risder Christian Harrison continues to make plays
Harrison has seen his recruitment explode in recent weeks. Offers from Florida, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Utah and Missouri have rolled in since Harrison decommitted from Liberty on Oct. 18.
Harrison added to his solid senior season on Friday night. He had three tackles and two passes defended to help hold the Creekside passing attack to 78 yards on the night.
C.J. Heard shows off versatility in secondary
Heard, sophomore, had seven total tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. He already has 17 offers with more potentailly on the way.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound defensive back took snaps at safety, in the nickel, on all of the Woodward special teams. He’s a key cog in their team as a young player.

Daiquan White continues to shine as key cog in Creekside defense
White, a junior defensive back from Creekside, intercepted his second pass of the 2021 season. White has been a tone-setter for Creekside for much of his junior season.
He has a nose to be around the football. White also picked up a fumble and scored a touchdown to help Creekside to a win over Georgia powerhouse Grayson back in week one.
White had a pick-six in week three.
Andrew Hines has a big night and picks up an offer
Hines, a sophomore, had nine tackles on Friday night. Hines also played some offense as a wide receiver.
Following the game, he announced a new offer from Virginia.
