2025 RB Omar Mabson commits to Auburn
Auburn (Ala.) High School three-star running back Omar Mabson is staying home.
The 5-foot-9, 200-pounder has announced his commitment to the Auburn Tigers, Mabson is staying on The Plains as a late addition to Hugh Freeze’s 2025 recruiting class.
He is the No. 56 RB and No. 27 player in the state of Alabama, per the On300. He ranks No. 1,238 overall and No. 95 in the backfield according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Mabson reclassified up to the 2025 cycle and became a target for Auburn late in his process. He set up an official visit in January after Freeze and offensive coordinator Derrick Nix went in-home for a visit.
“Coach Nix is my dog. He’s real cool and shows real love. And Coach Freeze, having him in the house, the top general, it’s always cool to have him in the house,” Mabson told Auburn Live.
