Michigan landed a commitment from Jacksonville Mandarin four-star cornerback Brody Jennings last July, as the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder made the call in favor of the Big Ten program following an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor.

Now coming up on six months since he pledged, Jennings remains in Sherrone Moore’s 2026 class. That doesn’t mean other programs around the country have let up in their pursuit of the blue-chip defensive back, though.

In-state Florida and Miami are among the schools that continue to make noise in Jennings’ recruitment. On Thursday, he picked up an offer from Auburn.

Jennings is expected to be in Coral Gables for Miami’s junior day this weekend. The staff at Auburn will look to follow suit and try to get Jennings up to The Plains at some point in the near future.

Hugh Freeze’s 2026 class currently features six commits and ranks No. 5 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Earlier this month, the Tigers picked up a commitment from Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County four-star wide receiver Devin Carter, a top-50 overall recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking.

Auburn made some serious headway on the recruiting trail last summer, landing four early 2026 commitments during July and August. The class already features a Florida recruit, too, as Boynton Beach Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star WR Denairius Gray committed last January.

Freeze and his staff signed a monstrous defensive backs class last month, as three cornerbacks and two safeties inked with AU. Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson four-star safety Anquon Fegans and Enterprise (Ala.) four-star safety Eric Winters are both top-100 recruits in the 2025 cycle. Baltimore St. Frances Academy four-star CB Blake Woodby, a top-150 prospect, headlines the trio of corners in the class.

Woodby’s former St. Frances Academy teammate, three-star safety Wayne Henry, committed back in August and currently rounds out Auburn’s 2026 pledge list.

Jennings still ‘locked in’ with Michigan

While Jennings is feeling the love from various programs in and around home, he’s still solid with Michigan. Wolverines’ DB coach Lamar Morgan visited him earlier this month, and Jennings told On3’s EJ Holland that he still feels right at home in Ann Arbor.

“(Morgan) likes me a lot,” Jennings said. “I like him a lot, too. He likes what I can do on the field. He also likes me as a person, which is great. He always talks to me about life. It’s not always football.

“I’m still 1,000 percent locked in,” he added. “That’s where I want to be. That’s where I’m going.”

To date, Jennings is one of just two commits in U-M’s 2026 class, with Southlake (Texas) Parish Episcopal three-star WR Jayden Pile also being in the fold. Across 11 games as a junior for Mandarin in the 2024 season, Jennings tallied 29 total tackles, an interception, three pass deflections, a sack and a pair of fumble recoveries, per MaxPreps.

He is the No. 313 overall prospect and No. 21 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 51 player in Florida.
