After the latest rankings updates from other recruiting services, Lucedale (Miss.) George County quarterback Deuce Knight is now a five-star prospect in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Knight, an Auburn commit, is now the No. 32 overall prospect in the cycle, rounding out the 32 five-stars in the senior class. He’s also now the No. 6 QB and No. 2 player in Mississippi.

The 6-foot-4.5, 208-pounder flipped his commitment to the Tigers from Notre Dame after being pledged to the Fighting Irish for over a year. He joined Hugh Freeze’s class on Oct. 2 after taking a slew of visits to The Plains this fall.

“Coach Freeze, he thinks we can both do some special things with the offense,” Knight told Auburn Live. “We are both Mississippi boys. He says to come over to Alabama and take over college football.”

“Auburn is a great place, great fans, it is going to be packed out every Saturday.”

Knight is the lone five-star in Auburn’s 2025 class, though he’s one of seven top-100 prospects in the mix. The Tigers picked up some massive recruiting momentum at the end of the summer and have since added the likes of Knight, four-star EDGE Jared Smith, four-star safety Anquon Fegans, four-star athlete Derick Smith and four-star defensive lineman Nate Marshall.

Deuce Knight Scouting Summary

On3 writes this of Knight as a prospect:

“Big left-handed signal caller who is the top athlete at the position in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at 6-foot-4.5, 208 pounds with a 9.75-inch hand at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Registers as a truly elite athlete at quarterback and one of the best athletes in the 2025 cycle, regardless of position. Consistently runs in the 4.5 second range at camps and has posted multiple 40+ inch vertical leaps. Shows flashes of that athleticism on Friday nights. Capable of tucking the ball and taking it to the house from anywhere on the field. Easily eliminates the angles of pursuit defenders as a scrambler and on designed runs. Tough to bring down in the backfield with his size and reactive quickness. Touts a strong downfield arm. Flashes the ability to stick throws into tight windows over the middle of the field. Showed marked progress as a passer during the off-season prior to his senior year, after a few months of working with a private coach. Still developing, but has tons of upside to continue improving with continued coaching and in-game reps.

…Has one of the highest upsides regardless of position in the 2025 cycle, but is still considered a developmental prospect. Has the potential to see the field early in his college career in a specifically tailored offense. With continued development, has the potential to be a program changing type of quarterback with significant NFL upside.”
