Auburn QB transfer Hank Brown expected to visit Iowa
Auburn quarterback transfer Hank Brown is honing in on visits as he continues his search for a new school out of the portal, and Iowa is expected to receive a visit on Thursday.
On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed that bit of news, which is an interesting development for the former Tigers gunslinger.
Iowa, of course, is looking for a new a quarterback after veteran signal-caller Cade McNamara entered the transfer portal following his second season with the Hawkeyes. McNamara threw for 1,017 yards and six touchdowns, against five interceptions, during the 2024 season.
Hank Brown is coming off a season in which he made two starts for Auburn in relief of Payton Thorne.
He completed 27-of-43 attempts for 403 yards, while throwing six touchdowns and three interceptions across three games. However, he was benched in favor of Thorne prior to the Tigers’ game against Oklahoma.
Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Hank Brown was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 1,108 overall player in the nation in the 2023 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 55 quarterback in the class and the No. 31 overall player from the state of Tennessee, hailing from Nashville (TN) Lipscomb Academy.

Auburn DB Antonio Kite enters transfer portal
Hank Brown isn’t the only player set to look for a new home from Auburn this offseason. Defensive back Antonio Kite has also entered the transfer portal.
Kite began his career at Alabama, but transferred after two seasons. He spent one year with the Tigers before electing to move on again.
Over the course of his career, Kite has six tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown.
As a member of the Class of 2022, Kite was a three-star recruit out of Anniston (Ala.) High, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 8 overall prospect in the state, the No. 13 safety in the class and the No. 161 overall prospect in the class.
On3’s Nick Kosko also contributed to this report.
