Auburn is set to hire Georgia Southern’s Marcus Davis as wide receivers coach, sources tell On3.

The 28-year old Davis, a former Auburn wide receiver, is considered one of the nation’s top up-and-coming wide receiver coaches.

Davis played for the Tigers from 2013-16, making 15 starts and finishing his career with 83 catches. He was a team captain in 2016.

Davis got into coaching as an analyst and strength and conditioning intern at Auburn in 2018 before becoming an assistant director of player personnel and player development for the Tigers (2019), a graduate assistant at Florida State (2020) and a wide receivers coach at Hawaii (2021) and Georgia Southern.
